Health hazard
Carbon monoxide combines with hemoglobin in the blood, causing tissue hypoxia. Acute poisoning: Mild poisoning patients may experience headache, dizziness, tinnitus, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, and weakness. The concentration of carboxyhemoglobin in the blood can be higher than 10%. In addition to the above symptoms, those with moderate poisoning also have cherry red skin and mucous membranes, rapid pulse, irritability, unsteady gait, and light to moderate coma. The concentration of carboxyhemoglobin in the blood can be higher than 30%. Severe patients may experience deep coma, constricted pupils, enhanced muscle tone, frequent convulsions, incontinence of urine and feces, shock, pulmonary edema, and severe myocardial damage, with blood carboxyhemoglobin levels exceeding 50%. After some patients regain consciousness and experience a symptom relief period of about 2 to 60 days, delayed encephalopathy may occur again, mainly characterized by consciousness and mental disorders, as well as damage to the pyramidal system or extrapyramidal system. Chronic effects: It is undetermined whether it can cause chronic poisoning and have an impact on the cardiovascular system.
